XPENG founder He Xiaopeng wrote on X on 23 October that the company has handed over a flying car of its own design, the Land Aircraft Carrier, to guests who had travelled a long way to be there. The aircraft will soon begin test flights in the UAE’s regulatory sandbox, he says, without giving a date.

The plaque held up in front of the aircraft puts a number and a place on the handover: “UAE AAM Regulatory Sandbox, RAK No.001 Land-Carrier eVTOL Roll-Out & Delivery Commemoration”, dated 20 October 2026. It numbers the aircraft 001 for Ras Al Khaimah and puts the handover three days before his post.
ARIDGE, XPENG’s flying-car company (formerly AeroHT), says in the post He quotes that His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, visited its Guangzhou facility. The company will keep working with partners in the emirate on the future of mobility. In the photographs from the day, he is the one pulling the red cloth off the aircraft.
It took 13 years to turn the flying car from a concept into a product that can be delivered, He writes. He hopes flying at low altitude will become part of everyday life for more people.
The other aircraft is the A868
ARIDGE showed two aircraft at AI Day in November 2025, and the Land Aircraft Carrier is one of them: a six-wheeled vehicle that carries an electric aircraft for short personal flights in its rear. The other is the A868, a tilt-rotor hybrid for longer trips with up to six on board and a planned range of 500 km, which XPENG then had in the final phase of flight verification. Together the two made up one of the four applications of Physical AI XPENG showed that day, alongside VLA 2.0, the Robotaxi and the next-generation IRON.
The same week, XPENG Norway had the Land Aircraft Carrier on its programme for the Oslo Motor Show, where it put the first Chinese customer deliveries at 2027.
Editor’s note: The details of the handover and the coming test flights rest on posts by He Xiaopeng and ARIDGE on X and on the plaque in the photographs from the day. We have not found independent confirmation.
