Unlock, start, and share your XPENG without carrying the physical key fob. XPENG Keyless turns your phone into a digital Bluetooth key. Part of the Guides collection under Software.
Multi-user mode lets several people use the same vehicle independently without fighting over a single Bluetooth connection.
Why Keyless?
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) links your phone to the car for walk-up unlock, drive authorization, and walk-away lock. It shortens the “get in and go” routine and reduces the chance of leaving the physical key at home.
Most 2023 / 2024 models (G9, G6, P7) have only one BLE radio - one phone connected at a time. The first P7 also has NFC, but still shares a single Bluetooth slot, so priority conflicts can occur.
Multi-user mode
Introduced in mobile app version 3.3.0. The car still maintains one active BLE link, but you define connection priority per user:

Recommendation: Assign only the primary driver to Driver mode; everyone else uses Passenger mode so the “wrong” phone does not seize the connection.
Activate the Bluetooth key
- Open the XPENG app → My XPENG → Digital Key → Multi-User Mode.
- Choose Driver mode or Passenger mode.
- Grant required permissions:
- Android: Bluetooth, auto-start, run in background.
- iOS: Location = Always, background app refresh, Bluetooth on.
Digital Key screen overview
- Mobile Bluetooth key - trash icon resets pairing.
- Multi-user mode - Driver or Passenger role.
- Automatic unlocking and locking - toggle non-inductive auto lock/unlock.
- Automatic login on unlock - signs your XPENG account into the center display (Bluetooth or 4G unlock).
Note: The physical key always unlocks using the most recently active driver profile - it is not tied to a specific XPENG account.
Advanced settings
- Key inspection - guided Bluetooth status check; starts Emergency Key flow if no active key is found.
- Emergency Key - Wi-Fi hotspot fallback when Bluetooth fails. See the dedicated Emergency Key guide (hold tailgate button 6 s to activate).
- Auto unlock & lock (advanced) - unlock distance (0-5 m), Approach vs Classic unlock, sound feedback.
- External key permissions - shared app keys and invite-by-email.

Widgets & Siri
- Widgets (iOS/Android) - lock/unlock from home or lock screen without opening the app.
- Siri & Shortcuts - e.g. “Hey Siri, lock my XPENG.” First run needs Face ID approval; then hands-free on iPhone/Watch.

Confirmed by XPENG (July 2026): the digital key in the app communicates exclusively via BLE on all models - including the New G6 and New G9 (MY25), which carry UWB and NFC hardware. Apple CarKey is not available either, even though it was mentioned around the MY25 launch. That is why owners of the newest models see the same connection behaviour as owners of previous models.
The UWB hardware is not sitting completely idle, though: on the New G6 (MY25) the physical key fob uses UWB. The same likely applies to the New G9, but that is not confirmed. For the app-based digital key the hardware is in place, so one can hope the full stack gets put to use one day. XPENG continues improving keyless on older models too.
