The first batch of G9L cars with the wheel on the right has come off the line in Guangzhou. They are going to Australia, and the model is to be sold in 64 countries and regions. XPENG said so on Weibo on 11 September 2026.
The G9L does not launch in China until September. The export cars are therefore finished before the first Chinese customers have taken delivery of theirs.
What XPENG has said about Australia
XPENG set out its Australian plan in Melbourne on 21 July. Five new models in six months. Australia is to follow China closely, so customers get the cars as the home market does. The L03 is confirmed for the fourth quarter of 2026, and the NGP driver-assistance system arrives in 2027 with Australia among the first right-hand-drive markets. Two cars on the stand were also confirmed for Australia, but XPENG would not say which.

Pre-sales in China opened on 11 August from 259,800 yuan. XPENG has not mentioned an Australian price, and there is no date for the first deliveries outside China.
