XPENG again has the most satisfied EV drivers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

XPENG is again at the top of USCALE GmbH’s satisfaction ranking of EV drivers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Of the XPENG customers surveyed, 82 percent would recommend the brand to a friend or colleague, against an average of 53 percent for all brands. XPENG Deutschland reported the result in a press release on 22 October 2026 and in a LinkedIn post the day after. Last year the figure was 81 percent among 5,004 respondents, with Porsche second on 78.

How the figure is measured

USCALE is a consulting and market research firm in Stuttgart, and this is the seventh edition of its study. In June and July 2026 it asked 4,004 EV drivers in the three countries: How likely is it that you would recommend your brand to a friend or colleague? Answers run from 0 to 10. A 9 or 10 counts as a promoter, 0 to 6 as a detractor; 7 and 8 are left out of the shares shown. Across all brands, 53 percent are promoters and 15 percent detractors. According to the press release, respondents were recruited through social media and are therefore not representative of the average driver. 23 brands are ranked.

XPENG’s share is up one percentage point on last year. According to the press release, XPENG is the only one of the 23 brands with no detractor share in the chart, and it is ahead of every American, European and Asian brand.

The whole field

Promoter shares in the chart, top ten brands:

  • XPENG 82%
  • Tesla 79% (detractors 6%)
  • Skoda 67% (7%)
  • Porsche 67% (9%)
  • Hyundai 63% (8%)
  • BMW 63% (6%)
  • Kia 61% (10%)
  • Mini 61% (8%)
  • Polestar 58% (7%)
  • Mercedes 54% (13%)

Among the rest, BYD is on 47%, Volkswagen on 46%, Leapmotor on 46% and Audi on 37%. Opel is last with 19% promoters and 50% detractors. Tesla, on 65 percent last year, is now second. The chart is USCALE’s and appears in XPENG’s press release.

What customers single out

Customers rate charging power, charging management and range highest, the press release says, and the Connect app has improved clearly on last year. XPENG is above average in almost every category.

USCALE’s founder and managing director Axel Sprenger writes in the release that EV drivers are more satisfied than ever, but also more demanding. Range and charging are settled in his view, and competition is now decided by software, connectivity and charging that works without trouble.

Six models and 110 dealer sites

The release ties the result to a bigger range and more dealers. Within a year XPENG’s German line-up has grown from three models to six: L03, G6, P7+, G9, G9L and X9, with the G9L just shown at the Paris Motor Show. XPENG expects 110 dealer sites in Germany by the end of the year; in July 2025 there were 34, with a target of 60.
