Mona L05 goes on pre-sale in China from CN¥169,800

XPENG unveiled the Mona L05 in Guangzhou at 7 pm Beijing time on 15 October 2026 and opened pre-sales the same evening. Five versions are on offer, battery electric (EV) or extended-range (EREV), at pre-sale prices from CN¥169,800 to CN¥191,800. Final prices follow at the official China launch on 29 October.

Five versions and their pre-sale prices

These prices apply to China:

  • Battery electric 635 Ultra SE: CN¥191,800
  • EREV 1310 Ultra SE: CN¥181,800
  • Battery electric 635 Max: CN¥179,800
  • Battery electric 535 Max: CN¥169,800
  • EREV 1310 Max: CN¥169,800

What separates Max from Ultra SE is driver assistance. According to XPENG, Max runs the lighter version of second-generation VLA on one Turing chip, and Ultra SE the full version on two.

A CN¥1,000 deposit paid before launch takes CN¥3,000 off the car. Until then the 20-inch five-spoke wheels cost CN¥4,000 instead of CN¥6,000, and the ROAM package CN¥6,999 instead of CN¥9,999. XPENG says these pre-sale offers can be combined with whatever it offers at launch.

Batteries, range and size

The battery electric versions get two batteries in XPENG’s configuration table: 58.2 kWh and 535 km CLTC for the 535 Max, 71.1 kWh and 635 km for both 635 versions. The EREVs carry a 37.2 kWh battery good for 310 km on electricity and 1,310 km in total, also on CLTC. Every version has a 183 kW motor.

The dimensions come from earlier regulatory filings, as reported by CnEVPost. At 4,870 mm long with a 2,940 mm wheelbase, the L05 is 220 mm longer than the Mona L03 and its wheelbase 90 mm longer. It is 1,930 mm wide and 1,636 mm tall.

Design and cabin

XPENG pitches the car at young buyers who want a large five-seat SUV. JuanMa Lopez, formerly in charge of exterior design at Ferrari, designed it with a team born after 2000. There are 190 LEDs in the headlights and more than 300 in the full-width tail light, which shines at a wavelength of at least 650 nm. Standard wheels are 18-inch low-drag units. Buyers choose from six body colours and two interior colours.

The 17.3-inch central screen has 3K resolution. XPENG says more than 74% of the cabin surfaces are soft-trimmed, and the 256-colour ambient lighting runs along more than 4.6 m of light strip around the cabin. Both front seats have 14-point massage, and the rear backrest adjusts electrically through 11°.

XPENG’s presentation also showed a 17.3-inch roof-mounted screen for the rear seats and a 20-speaker sound system. The configuration table lists both as option packs; the standard car has nine speakers. The Zero Gravity passenger seat is part of a pack too, and XPENG will give prices and terms for the packs at launch.

The ROAM package brings its own 20-inch wheels with body-coloured calliper covers and a dedicated theme for the screen and ambient lighting. It is available only with green, purple or grey paint, and each of those gets an interior of its own.

Mona sales figures

XPENG says the Mona range has passed 350,000 deliveries in two years, more than 14,000 a month on average. By its count, the Mona M03 has been China’s best-selling electric sedan between CN¥100,000 and CN¥200,000 for 24 months running. The Mona L03, launched in July, set an order record for the brand, according to XPENG. CnEVPost puts its starting price at CN¥123,800 when it went on sale in China on 16 July.

XPENG is relying on new models to lift fourth-quarter sales, CnEVPost writes, and has set itself the goal of more than 60,000 deliveries in a single month of the quarter. September came to 41,256 cars.

In Europe the car will be called the XPENG L05 and is announced for 2027; see XPENG announces the L05 for Europe in 2027. Versions, equipment and colours are all on the L05 model page.
