In May 2025 the Stuttgart research firm UScale asked 5,004 electric-car owners in Germany, Austria and Switzerland how likely they were to recommend their brand to a friend or colleague, on a scale from zero to ten. 81 percent of XPENG owners answered nine or ten. The average across the whole study was 50 percent in the same band.

That was enough for first place, and it was the first time XPENG had appeared in the study at all. Porsche followed at 78 percent, Polestar and BMW at 69, Tesla at 65. At the other end sat Opel at 11 percent, with MG and Peugeot both at 21.
XPENG was above average in almost every category, and the firm singles out charging performance, range and consumption.
A young market
Germany is new ground for the brand. XPENG entered in May 2024, and by July 2025 it had 34 dealer locations with a target of 60 by the end of the year. Three models were on sale, the G9, G6 and P7, in rear- or all-wheel drive and several battery sizes, with metallic paint and a tow bar as the only options.
The German warranty runs to seven years or 160,000 km on the car, whichever comes first, and eight years on the high-voltage battery. It is conditional on the car being serviced by an authorised XPENG partner.
What happened next is in the story on Germany’s first quarter of 2026, where XPENG grew 179 percent and the dealer network was heading for 110 locations. The markets page shows where else XPENG sells.
