On 29 June 2023 XPENG launched the G6 in China at prices from RMB 209,900 to 276,900. Deliveries to Chinese customers were to begin in July. The model had premiered at the Shanghai motor show on 18 April as XPENG’s fifth model.

XPENG gave a range of up to 755 km on the Chinese CLTC test cycle and consumption of 13.2 kWh per 100 km. The range was measured to a different standard from the WLTP cycle used in Europe.
The SEPA 2.0 platform combined 800 V technology with silicon carbide and battery cells built for 3C charging. According to XPENG the G6 could charge for 300 km of range in 10 minutes at the company’s own S3 and S4 fast chargers.
Driver assistance and cabin
XNGP was available on the G6. XPENG described it as a driver assistance system covering motorways, cities and parking. City NGP, which supported driving on city streets, had at that point been rolled out in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
In the cabin Xmart OS 4.0 ran on a Snapdragon SA8155P with a central 14.96″ screen. The car had a 2,890 mm wheelbase and a drag coefficient of 0.248.
The design came out of conversations with the science fiction writer Liu Cixin, and the chassis was tuned by a German team. The car took the Platinum award for transportation design at the MUSE Design Awards.
Range options for Europe
In April 2024 XPENG presented the European G6 with a 66 kWh LFP battery and 435 km WLTP, or an 87.5 kWh NCM battery and 550 to 570 km WLTP depending on version. Orders were to open in May, and the car was expected in showrooms in the third quarter.
The Chinese 755 km and the European WLTP figures were given on different test cycles and cannot be compared directly.
The XPENG G6 page describes the current versions. In 2026 the model reached 200,000 delivered cars.
