Platform & charging

The G6 was the first model on XPENG’s 800 V SEPA 2.0 architecture, shown at Auto Shanghai in April 2023. DC peak is 382 kW on Standard Range and 451 kW on Long Range and Performance; XPENG quotes about 12 minutes for 10-80% at max DC. AC is 11 kW three-phase - 5-100% from 7.3 hours on the small pack, 9.2 on the big one. V2L is 3.3 kW on Standard Range and 6 kW on Long Range and Performance - XPENG’s French and Australian sheets agree, while the German one still lists 3.3 kW across the range (checked 18 August 2026). The 230 V adapter is sold separately.

Front suspension is double wishbone, the rear a five-link independent setup, and kerb weight runs 2,065-2,220 kg by trim. Thermal management is XPENG’s X-HP 3.0, one system heating both pack and cabin. The front and rear body sections are giga-cast in one piece each, and the battery carries load as part of the structure - XPENG credits that layout for the stiffness and the flat cabin floor.

Safety

Euro NCAP 2024 gave the G6 five stars (left-hand drive, 2,025 kg). Adult occupant 88%, child occupant 85%, vulnerable road users 81%, safety assist 75%. The tested car was the pre-facelift G6; no separate assessment has been published for New G6.

  • The cabin stayed stable in the offset test, with good protection for the passenger. Rear-passenger chest protection was rated weak in the full-width test. Side barrier and pole: maximum points.
  • AEB scored well against pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists. Head protection for vulnerable road users is poor at the windscreen pillars.
  • Driver fatigue detection is standard. There is no child-presence detection; the front passenger airbag can be switched off for a rearward-facing child seat.
  • Euro NCAP confirmed doors and windows stay openable if the car ends up in water.
  • The LFP pack sits behind a three-layer shield in a 4-3-4 structure against impact, fire and overheating, with automatic power isolation on a fault.

Cabin & tech

XPENG G6 cabin cutaway from above - five light-grey seats, steering wheel and centre screen

The rear floor is flat, and the front passenger seat reclines nearly flat. Heated, ventilated, massaging front seats are standard on Long Range and Performance.

  • 10.25″ driver display · 15.6″ 2.4K centre touchscreen
  • XOPERA 2.0 audio - 18 speakers, standard on every trim
  • XOS with multi-zone voice control - new functions arrive over OTA
  • Panoramic glass roof measuring 2.12 m² in fixed silver-coated glass (the roof does not open / no traditional sunroof functionality), blocking 99.99% of UV rays.
  • Laminated acoustic glass on front doors and windscreen
  • 20″ Michelin alloy wheels on the DK configurator

Assisted driving

The trim split matters here. Standard Range uses a Bosch ADAS stack; Long Range and Performance run XPILOT ASSIST on one NVIDIA Orin-X, with a scope XPENG describes as parallel parking in town through lane changes on the motorway. The Orin-X cars carry the newer sensor set.

For that set XPENG claims a 125% larger field of view than the previous generation and recognition of 49 obstacle types (marketing figures, not independently tested).

Q&A

The Danish store today sells New G6 (MY25) only - the facelift with the 5C battery and the newer sensor set. Cars delivered in Denmark before mid-2025 are the original G6. Model timeline: Lineup history.

RWD Long Range at 525 km WLTP. Standard Range is rated 470 km on the smaller 68.5 kWh pack; AWD Performance shares Long Range’s 80.8 kWh pack and lands at 510 km because of the second motor.

Not at every public fast charger. XPENG’s figure assumes max DC - 382 kW on Standard Range, 451 kW on the other two - while the fastest public posts in Europe reach about 400 kW and most motorway stalls run 300-350 kW. The networks keep replacing older posts, so more and more of them can deliver what the car will take. An 800 V pack still holds a flatter curve on the same stall than a typical 400 V car; plan around what the stop actually delivers.

1,500 kg braked. The electronic swivel towbar that enables it is on the options list - the price is under Dimensions & practicality.

Yes - five stars from Euro NCAP in 2024, on the pre-facelift car. Details are in the Safety section; no separate rating has been published for New G6.

Outside China, VLA 2.0 needs at least two Turing chips. New G6 has none: Standard Range uses Bosch, Long Range and Performance one NVIDIA Orin-X. China named that distillate VLA 2.0 Lite in August 2026 (G9L Max first); it has not been named for other markets.

As of August 2026 XPENG has named L03, G9L and every later model. This car is not in that group. When that is settled for the rest of the lineup, XPENG will say so officially. Background: XPENG and Google Maps.

Not in the current store. The car on sale is New G6 (MY25), with no Turing chips. China has a 2026 G6 facelift. As of August 2026 there are no official plans to introduce an equivalent overseas.

On New G6 (MY25), Standard Range uses a front-integrated Bosch camera system for ACC/LCC. Long Range and Performance use one NVIDIA Orin-X. That split is in the Assisted driving section.

Standard Range uses a MediaTek MT8676. Long Range and Performance use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295. G9 MY23/MY24 and first-generation P7 use Snapdragon 8155.

Periodically, yes. Every New G6 in the Danish store is LFP. A full charge calibrates the state of charge. XPENG stated the reminder trigger in XOS 5.2.5: 14 days or 1,000 km without a full charge.

XPENG publishes the peak power and the 10-80% time, not the curve, so that comes from third parties. EV Database lists the 10-80% time per charger type, and EVKX plots the curve itself. Both are other people’s measurements and models, not XPENG figures, and the numbers move with temperature and the charger. EV Database: Standard Range · Long Range · AWD Performance. EVKX charging curve: Standard Range · Long Range · AWD Performance.

No. From XOS 5.9.5, Long Range and Performance can mark a nearby space in the car for this manoeuvre (custom APA). That bay is not stored for the next visit. Standard Range uses Bosch and does not get custom APA.

No. All XPENG models (including the G6) come standard with a fixed panoramic glass roof with no opening functionality (no traditional sunroof). The glass roof on the G6 measures 2.12 m² in silver-coated glass, blocking 99.99% of UV rays.
