XPENG made its official Belgian and Luxembourg debut at the Brussels Motor Show on 9 January 2025. Hedin Automotive became the exclusive distributor for both countries, with four XPENG Centers for sales and after-sales in Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent and Maldegem. The last two were new.
The G9 and G6 stood as the hero models, the P7+ as a teaser and the X2 flying car as the public draw. The G9, G6 and P7 each hold a five-star Euro NCAP rating.
The figures that exist only in Dutch
The two most concrete pieces of information about the P7+ appear only in the Dutch-language version of the release. The car runs on the same 800-volt platform as the G9 and G6, and consumption is given as 11.6 kWh per 100 km. No test cycle is stated, and for scale the German homologation for the P7+ is 15.2 to 17.4 kWh per 100 km WLTP. Not the same measure.
The positioning
XPENG writes in both versions that the aim is a significant share of the European market for cars priced at EUR 40,000 and above, and that the company intends to operate in more than 60 markets by the end of 2025 with half of sales from outside China. The English version says half; the Dutch says more than half.
Bart Hamminga, country manager for Benelux, called XPENG a challenger brand that listens to its customers and is here to make a bold statement. Jens Olsen heads Northern Europe, and Eddy Haesendonck runs Hedin Automotive Belux.
Belgium and Luxembourg were countries ten and eleven in Europe at that point, after Norway, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Iceland, Spain and Portugal. The markets page has the list today, and the XPENG P7+ page has the car that was the teaser here.
