XPENG entered Southeast Asia with Neo Mobility Asia at the Bangkok Motor Show

On 25 March 2024 XPENG announced its expansion into the ASEAN region at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show. The company established a long-term strategic partnership in Thailand with Neo Mobility Asia, a joint venture between Arun Plus Mobility Holdings (a subsidiary of Thailand’s state-owned oil and energy group PTT) and MGC-Asia GreenTech.

At the same time XPENG presented dealer agreements with Premium Automobiles in Singapore and Bermaz Auto in Malaysia. The partnerships covered sales, showrooms and service infrastructure ahead of the first deliveries in the region.

Model and platform

XPENG announced that the G6 electric SUV would be introduced in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia, with deliveries expected to begin in the third quarter of 2024. The model is built on XPENG’s 800 V SEPA 2.0 architecture.

James Wu, XPENG’s vice president of finance and overseas strategic support, said that with local partnerships the brand adapts its range to regional customer needs as part of a global rollout.

Further rollout in the region

Shortly after the agreements in Southeast Asia, on 9 May 2024, XPENG appointed TrueEV as its exclusive importer and distributor in Australia, setting an Australian launch for the G6 in the fourth quarter of 2024.

In August 2024 the Southeast Asian rollout led to the first prices and specifications in Thailand and Malaysia.

The XPENG G6 page covers the vehicle’s European specifications, and the markets page tracks the company’s international expansion.
