XPENG marked its market introduction in Belgium and Luxembourg

XPENG marked its official introduction to the Belgian and Luxembourg markets at the Brussels motor show in January 2025. Hedin Automotive was the exclusive distributor for both countries.

In the release of 9 January Hedin said four XPENG centres were in operation in Belgium. Two new locations in Ghent and Maldegem supplemented the existing ones in Brussels and Antwerp. The centres offered both sales and service.

The G9 and G6 were the main models on the stand. XPENG also showed the P7+ as a preview of a coming model and exhibited the two-seat X2 flying car. The three models XPENG had already launched in Europe - the G9, G6 and P7 - had each been awarded five Euro NCAP stars.

What the P7+ was built on

The fastback saloon on show used, according to XPENG, the same 800 V platform as the G9 and G6. The company gave a consumption of 11.6 kWh per 100 km without stating a test cycle. The car had the AI Hawkeye driver assistance system.

Hedin and XPENG’s European plans

Jens Olsen, head of XPENG in Northern Europe, described the agreement with Hedin as the basis for the local market introduction. Eddy Haesendonck, managing director of Hedin Automotive Belux, said the two new centres had opened in response to rising demand. Bart Hamminga was country manager for XPENG in Benelux.

XPENG was aiming for a significant share of the European market for cars from EUR 40,000. The company planned to be present in more than 60 markets globally by the end of 2025 and had an ambition that at least half of sales should come from markets outside China.

The markets page shows XPENG’s presence today, and the XPENG P7+ page describes the European version of the model.
