The G6 is XPENG’s fifth model and was shown for the first time at Auto Shanghai on 18 April 2023. It is the first car on SEPA2.0, the company’s next platform architecture. The April release gives 755 km of range, 71 km more than previous models. It does not say how the 755 km was measured.

That arrives on 29 June, when the car is priced for China: 755 km on CLTC at 13.2 kWh per 100 km. CLTC is the Chinese test cycle, and it returns systematically higher numbers than Europe’s WLTP. That single bracket is the most useful line in the whole set for a European reader.
Charging follows the same pattern. Both releases say 10 minutes of charging for 300 km of range. Only June names the hardware: XPENG’s own S3 and S4 supercharging piles. Neither gives an ambient temperature or the start and end state of charge, and neither offers a 10 to 80 per cent figure.
The Chinese price ran from RMB 209,900 to 276,900, and the deliveries from July 2023 were for China only.
The car
800 volts with silicon carbide and 3C cells. A drag coefficient of 0.248 and 17 aerodynamic measures. A 2,890 mm wheelbase, a 540 mm centre of gravity, weight split 50:50. Zero to a hundred in 3.9 seconds in Chinese trim. Body rigidity of 41,600 Nm. Thirty-one sensors including two lidars, twin Nvidia Orin-X chips and 508 TOPS, though XNGP and City NGP ran only in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Xmart OS 4.0 on a Snapdragon SA8155P with a 14.96″ screen, which the April release rounds up to 15″.
The design came out of conversations with the science fiction writer Liu Cixin, and the chassis was tuned by a German team. The car took the Platinum award for transportation design at the MUSE Design Awards.
The name that was only for China
One sentence in the April release did not survive: XPENG wrote that the G6 badge was reserved for its home market. A year later the car reached Europe, and it is called the G6.
What 755 km became in Europe
The European G6 arrived in April 2024 with 66 kWh of LFP and 435 km, or 87.5 kWh of NCM and 550 to 570 km WLTP. Part of the gap between 755 and 570 is battery and equipment; the rest is the yardstick. The two numbers do not compare directly, and if you meet a Chinese range figure for an XPENG, find the WLTP number before you plan around it.
The XPENG G6 page has the car as it is sold now, and the 200,000th G6 shows where it ended up.
