The G9L is bound for 64 countries and regions, with its global launch in Paris

The day after the Beijing launch, XPENG’s international newsroom published its own account of the G9L, and it says less about prices and more about where the car is going. The G9L will be sold in 64 countries and regions. The global launch event is on 12 October at the Paris Motor Show, where XPENG’s stand is in Hall 6, and France is only the first stop by the company’s own description. The Chinese prices for the six trims are in the story from launch night, and Norway gets the car at the Oslo Motor Show eleven days after Paris.

Designed to four test programmes

XPENG calls the G9L a global car and puts figures on what that means. According to the release, the car is designed to the five-star requirements of four programmes: Euro NCAP, ANCAP in Australia, C-NCAP in China and the Chinese insurance institute CIASI. That amounts to 192 crash tests covering more than 110 separate test items. On top of that sit three years of road testing in 26 countries and regions, 6.74 million kilometres in all. The figures describe what the car is built to pass. The release mentions no rating from any of the programmes themselves.

The dimensions match the Chinese launch: 5,120 mm long and 3,100 mm between the axles, about 10 cm more than the G9. XPENG points to the ratio between the two, 0.605, as what gives the cabin its room without making the car heavy to drive. That is the company’s own reading. Trim-by-trim figures are on the XPENG G9L page.

Production split between China and Austria

The G9L is built in Guangzhou and at XPENG Magna in Graz, and XPENG does the count itself: after the G6, G9 and P7+, the G9L is the fourth model from Graz, and all four have arrived within a year of the Magna agreement announced in September 2025. The cars share lines and a factory with the European luxury cars Magna assembles there. When the first European G9Ls will be ready is still not stated.

What the car shares with the robot

Second-generation VLA runs in the G9L, and its Turing chip is the one inside IRON. That is how the release ties the car to XPENG’s humanoid robot and to the rest of its AI work. He Xiaopeng used the evening in Beijing to show the new robot production line in Guangzhou as well, where robots assemble robots, and repeated the company’s position that car and robot share one AI foundation. The XPACE story describes the model behind the robot.
