Six new European markets in eight weeks, and a warranty that changes along the way

XPENG opened Ireland and Finland with launch events in Dublin on 27 January and Helsinki on 29 January 2025. The partners are Motor Distributors Limited in Ireland and Inchcape in Finland.

The model line-ups are not the same. Finland gets both the G9 and the G6; Ireland gets only the G6. It is worth noticing, because it is the kind of difference a shared European price list never shows.

A month later, on 26 February, Inchcape also became the exclusive distributor in Poland, with sales from the second quarter and three models: the P7, G9 and G6. The next day Hedin Mobility Group became importer for Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, also from the second quarter. Hedin was already XPENG’s retailer in Belgium and Luxembourg, and XPENG became the group’s fourteenth distribution brand; Hedin has more than 12,500 employees in 14 countries and sold more than 218,000 vehicles in 2023.

Three numbers that do not agree across markets

The warranty. The Polish release says five years. The German release of November 2024 says up to seven years or 160,000 km, and the Danish one that December says seven years or 160,000 km. Either Poland gets a shorter term or the release is wrong. It does not say which.

The speakers. The Polish release gives the G9 an XOpera system with 22 speakers. The Danish newsroom described an 18-speaker Dynaudio system in the European G9 in December 2024. The 22 traces back to the Chinese G9 of 2022, and the European launch release of February 2023 counts no speakers at all, giving only output.

The five minutes. Poland says 120 km in five minutes; the German release five months earlier says 100 km in five minutes. Neither names a charging power or a temperature.

The strategy in numbers

XPENG writes in both of the early releases that the aim is a significant share of the European market for cars priced at EUR 40,000 and above, more than 60 global markets by the end of 2025, and half of sales from markets outside China.

Alex Tang, head of the international division of sales and service, called Poland the company’s largest market in Central and Eastern Europe. Anders Hedin, CEO of Hedin Mobility Group, said innovation, sustainability and smart technology are XPENG’s hallmarks and fit the group’s ambition to offer customers more than a car.

The markets page has the list today, and the XPENG G6 page has the car Ireland opened with.
