XPENG announced the X9’s European premiere at eCar Expo in Lillestrøm on 7-9 February 2025 and confirmed that it would sell the model in Norway. In December 2024 the company had said it was considering the car for the Norwegian market.

At the announcement in February the X9 was not yet type-approved for Europe. The published specifications applied to the Chinese model and were subject to final European type approval.
How far and how fast
XPENG gave a range of up to 705 km on the Chinese CLTC standard, a battery of 101.5 kWh and a maximum charging power of 330 kW. The stated charging time from 10 to 80 percent was 20 minutes. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h was as little as 5.7 seconds. A CLTC range does not compare directly with a WLTP range.
Space and equipment
The X9 was 5,293 mm long with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm. The boot held 755 litres with all seven seats in use and 2,554 litres with four seats in use.
The dual-chamber air suspension could adjust the height by up to 90 mm, and could raise the ground clearance to 22 cm. The rear-wheel steering gave a turning diameter of 10.8 metres.
In the rear seats there were zero-gravity seats and a 21.4″ screen that folds down from the roof. XPENG also described a cooling and heating box that could be set between 1 and 50 degrees.
The Norwegian network
In December 2024 XPENG said more than 3,600 of the brand’s cars were on Norwegian roads, most of them G9s. At that point the company had 15 sales locations and 18 service locations in Norway.
The XPENG X9 page gathers the European specifications. The story on the X9 in El Prix describes the car’s later result in a Norwegian test.
