XPENG Global wrote on X on 24 September 2026 that the X9 is the best-selling premium electric MPV in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. According to XPENG, it has held first place for three months in a row in Thailand and two in Indonesia. In Malaysia it reached first place within two weeks of launch.
XPENG does not give sales volumes or the exact periods behind the rankings. Malaysia publishes registration data by make and model, although registrations are not the same as sales. XPENG also does not specify which models it includes in the premium segment.
The X9 in the three markets
XPENG shipped the first 300 X9s to Thailand in February 2025 and launched the model in Malaysia that March. The Indonesian launch followed in June 2025, with local production beginning in July. According to paultan.org, the updated 2026 version launched in Malaysia in June 2026. XPENG does not specify which Malaysian launch its post refers to. The markets are on the map of XPENG’s markets.
