Platform: SEPA 3.0
The L03 sits on SEPA 3.0, the architecture generation XPENG introduced with the China-market GX in May 2026. XPENG’s own L03 model page does not name the platform; the clearest confirmation is Jacky Gu, ATC Chairman and E-powertrain Vice President at XPENG, who told Forbes: “The L03 design is based on our SEPA 3.0 architecture. This architecture is designed to meet the requirements of multiple areas, not only China. For L03 we did tuning and calibration for the European market.”
At Brand Day, Liu Xianming, head of XPENG’s General Intelligence Center, presented a SEPA roadmap covering 2023-2029 and placed the L03 as the first global model on the generation - the GX came first, but launched for China only. SEPA 3.0 is billed as “one car, dual energy”: battery-electric and range-extender on a single base.
The L03 does not use the top of that architecture. The 800 V, 5C and 3,000 TOPS figures are ceilings for the generation - the GX flagship is what sits up there. The L03 is a 400 V car:
| On the L03 | SEPA 3.0 ceiling (not the L03) |
|---|---|
| Voltage 400 V | Up to 800 V (GX) |
| DC charging 3C - 193-236 kW peak, 10-80% in ~20 min | Up to 5C (GX) |
| Three Turing chips on Ultra = 2,250 TOPS total (two for ADAS = 1,500 TOPS); Bosch assistance on the other trims | Up to 3,000 TOPS (GX Robo, four chips) |
The 3C figure comes from the car’s own numbers: 193 kW on 58.3 kWh and 236 kW on 71.2 kWh both work out at roughly 3.3C. Roadmap details as reported from Brand Day by ElectricVehicles.com.
Intelligent driving (NGP)
In China the L03 ships with NGP, VLA 2.0 and Turing AI chips. For Europe / Denmark the mapping is:
- Bosch driver assistance - RWD Standard Range, RWD Long Range, and AWD Performance (front camera module; same broad approach as G6 MY25 Standard Range)
- XPENG Turing - AWD Performance Ultra only: three Turing chips = 2,250 TOPS total (two for ADAS = 1,500 TOPS, one for the smart cabin) plus MT8676 for infotainment
- NGP / VLA 2.0 in Europe is planned for Ultra only, first version Q1 2027 (City + Highway NGP)
- Ultra only (DK configurator): Automatic Lane Change (ALC) · intelligent 3D surround visualization (SR) · VLM · occupant monitoring (OMS) · flexible APA for unmarked bays · intelligent reverse assist
Active safety
XPENG lists 16 active safety functions for the L03 - per XPENG’s own footnote they are not standard on every trim. AEB works at up to 150 km/h, and tire-blowout stability control is standard across the range (tested up to 180 km/h). Euro NCAP: at Brand Day XPENG declared the car “5-Star Ready” - no published result yet.
Standard on all Danish trims (per the DK press release): adaptive cruise control · active lane assist · automatic emergency braking · blind-spot assist · rear cross-traffic warning · door-opening warning · automatic speed adaptation with sign recognition · 360° camera · parking assist · remote parking via the XPENG app · driver attention monitoring.
The 16 active safety functions:
- Driver Incapacitation Assist - Performance Ultra only (part of VLA 2.0 NGP)
- Full-Scenario Tire Blowout Stability Control
- Autonomous Evasive Steering
- Traffic Sign Recognition
- Driver Monitoring System
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Blind Spot Detection
- Forward Collision Warning

Efficiency claims
- XP-HP3.5 heat pump (all Nordic L03): up to 16% lower winter energy use and up to 31% lower summer energy use vs what XPENG calls the industry average; Brand Day / Munich also cites 6.7% range optimization at −7 °C and 6.3% at 35 °C. Includes AI climate control.
- Aerodynamics: 22 optimisations across the car, worth up to 59.3 km of extra WLTP range.
- Drive assembly: carbon-blended and integrated. XPENG claims class-leading efficiency and the lightest weight in the segment.
- REEV noise: active noise cancellation (ENC) keeps the range extender below 1 dB in the cabin, and engagement is meant to be seamless.
These are XPENG’s own marketing claims, not independent measurements.
See and test-drive the L03 in Denmark
