Norway received XPENG first. The first cars arrived at the end of 2020 as the brand’s first export market outside China, with 86 cars delivered that year. XPENG stated on 19 May 2026 that the agent Ålgårds Auto had recently delivered car number 10,000, a G9 AWD Performance to a family from Haugesund. That took about five and a half years.
Denmark began later and reached the milestone faster. Counted per vehicle identification number in the Danish motor register, the first registrations were P7 sedans in July 2023, and the total passed 10,000 in August 2026, as the story on the 10,000 sets out. The two statistics use different metrics: Norway tracks customer deliveries and Denmark counts vehicle registrations, but the gap of more than two years is too large for that to change the picture.
Developments in the two countries
The model ranges started differently. Norway began with the G3 and did not get the P7 until October 2021. Danish buyers could order the G9 and P7 from February 2023, with the G6 following in July 2024. Today, two out of three Danish XPENG cars are a G6.
Norway has in turn gained momentum. Cumulative sales passed 3,000 cars by September 2024, 5,000 by May 2025 and 10,000 by May 2026, a doubling in under a year. XPENG ranked seventh among new registrations in Norway during the early part of 2026, with a full-year target exceeding 7,000 cars in Norway alone.
In Norway the G9 has won People’s Favourite in the Norwegian Car of the Year vote, and several models have performed strongly in NAF and Motor’s El Prix. The story on Norwegian car sales follows the development from there.
