The EU imposed provisional countervailing duties on electric cars built in China with effect from 5 July 2024, for up to four months while negotiations with China continued. Five days later, on 10 July 2024, XPENG Netherlands confirmed a price protection. It covered both customers with an order and everyone who ordered before November 2024. They would get the car at the price agreed when they ordered, even if delivery came after the duty came into force.

The undertaking applied to the price on orders with XPENG Netherlands, not to the delivery time.
Eight weeks later the G6 went on sale in Germany from EUR 43,600, as the story on the German price list sets out. Which countries XPENG sells in, and what separates them, is collected on the markets page.
