On 25 November 2025 XPENG confirmed the European specifications for the X9. Presales had been open since June in a limited set of European markets.
Charging power for the all-wheel-drive Performance is confirmed at up to 542 kW. Range is given as 525 km for the Standard Range, 600 km for the Long Range and 560 km for the AWD Performance.
No test cycle appears anywhere in the release. WLTP is the only cycle that could apply to a European type approval, but XPENG does not write it. And at the foot sits the company’s own caveat: all data is subject to final type approval. That covers both the 542 kW and all three range figures.
A number without a curve
The release gives no 10 to 80 per cent time at all. A peak with no curve behind it is the least informative charging figure there is. XPENG’s later English release on the X9 supplies what is missing here: 10 to 80 per cent in as little as 12 minutes, under test conditions.
The record XPENG overtook itself
On 11 July 2025 XPENG wrote that the New G6 and G9 are the fastest-charging EVs in their classes at 451 kW and 525 kW. Four and a half months later the X9 is confirmed at 542 kW. The “in their classes” hedge means the two statements are not formally in conflict, but the flagship figure was overtaken by the company’s own MPV inside the year.
XPENG also writes that no electric car on the market today can show a higher number. That is the company’s own superlative, with no date and no source.
The equipment and the price
Against what had been announced before, the car gained a head-up display, soft-close doors and an upgraded audio system. Cabin materials were improved, the door panels redrawn, the front bumper revised, and the third row split 60/40.
The X9 was one of seven finalists for Norway’s Car of the Year 2026. The Norwegian price started at NOK 699,900 including an electrically deployable tow bar, and the car was expected in Norway during the spring of 2026.
Claes Persson, managing director of XPENG Norway, said interest in the flagship had been greater than they could have dreamed.
The X9 at El Prix 2026 has those figures measured in a Norwegian winter, and the XPENG X9 page has the car as it is sold today.
