XPENG launches the G9L in China on Thursday 17 September 2026 at 7 pm China time. The company’s own Weibo post set the date, and the launch poster that came with it fixes the venue: Beijing. XPENG had not given a day since pre-sales opened on 11 August.
So far XPENG has named one price for the car: CN¥ 259,800 for the entry version. There are six versions, split between battery-electric and Super EREV, and the other five prices are still unpublished. A Chinese market launch is normally where the finished price list arrives, but XPENG has not said what the evening holds.
The limited-time pre-sale perks stop before that date. XPENG asks for an order before 17 September and set the countdown at three days on the 14th. Among them are the CN¥ 1,000 deposit credited as 3,000 toward the purchase, and free Fjord Grey paint.
He Xiaopeng put both the launch and the first deliveries in September on the earnings call of 24 August without naming a day. Production ran ahead of the announcements: on 11 September the first right-hand-drive G9L came off the line in Guangzhou bound for Australia, as the story on that first batch sets out.
Europe gets a different car
The Chinese car is not the one arriving here. Europe gets the G9L as a six- and seven-seater where China gets five, and the premiere falls at the Paris Motor Show from 12 October.
