New G9 is a five-seat SUV with a long wheelbase and 0.272 Cd (WLTP figures on this page are for 21″ wheels). On MY25 the list price includes a hands-free power tailgate and the electronic swivel towbar.

Assisted driving

XPILOT ASSIST 2.5 runs on one NVIDIA Orin-X on every MY25 trim: 5 millimetre-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, 4 surround cameras, 7 high-perception cameras and a cabin camera. Functions include adaptive cruise, lane centring, automatic lane change, the AEB suite, driver monitoring, parking assist (EAP 2.0 / AEP / RPA), a 360° camera and the transparent-chassis view.

Range & charging

Official WLTP range spans 502 km (RWD Standard Range) to 585 km (RWD Long Range). AWD Performance is rated 540 km. Real-world range depends on season, speed, and wheels - winter motorway driving will be lower than WLTP.

New G9 is an 800 V car. DC peak is 445 kW on Standard Range and 525 kW on Long Range / Performance, with about 12 minutes for 10-80% at max DC. AC charging is 11 kW three-phase.

Autoblog’s 2026 WK Snelladen timed a G9 from 10-80% in 11 minutes on Fastned’s 600 kW posts in Lelystad, air about 30 °C. Peak was 452 kW against XPENG’s 525 kW on Long Range / Performance; the session averaged 381 kW.

Platform

The G9 is built on XPENG’s 800 V SEPA 2.0 architecture. V2L is 6 kW at 230 V on every MY25 trim; the adapter is sold separately. Thermal management is XPENG’s X-HP 3.0, one system heating pack and cabin.

Kerb weight is 2,210 kg on Standard Range, 2,290 kg on Long Range and 2,395 kg on Performance. SR and Long Range use conventional suspension; AWD Performance has adaptive air suspension as standard.

New G9 is sold through XPENG’s Danish website. About 3,100 were registered new in Denmark by 30 August 2026, with the monthly numbers under Registrations.

Q&A

The MY25 list price includes the Premium Comfort & Sound package and the electronic swivel towbar - both paid options on earlier model years - and the tailgate is hands-free. Every trim gets 21″ Performance rims. Trim-by-trim and year-by-year equipment is laid out in G9 Differences.

RWD Long Range is rated 585 km WLTP against 502 km for Standard Range. AWD Performance uses the same 93.1 kWh pack and is rated 540 km; WLTP consumption is 20.1 kWh/100 km against 18.6 on Long Range.

Not at every public fast charger. XPENG quotes 10-80% at peak DC - 445 kW on Standard Range, 525 kW on Long Range and Performance - while the fastest public posts in Europe reach about 400 kW and most motorway stalls run 300-350 kW. The networks keep replacing older posts, so more and more of them can deliver what the car will take. On the same 350 kW stall an 800 V pack still holds a flatter curve than a typical 400 V car; planning time follows what that stop actually delivers.

1,500 kg braked. The electronic swivel towbar is included in the MY25 list price; fitting it adds about 25 kg to kerb weight and takes the same off payload.

Yes - five stars from Euro NCAP in 2023. That result covers this generation; Euro NCAP has published no separate assessment for the MY25 car.

Outside China, VLA 2.0 needs at least two Turing chips. G9 MY25 has one NVIDIA Orin-X on every trim. China named that distillate VLA 2.0 Lite in August 2026 (G9L Max first); it has not been named for other markets.

As of August 2026 XPENG has named L03, G9L and every later model. This car is not in that group. When that is settled for the rest of the lineup, XPENG will say so officially. Background: XPENG and Google Maps.

Not as a G9 facelift in the current store. G9 MY25 has one NVIDIA Orin-X on every trim. China has a 2026 G9 facelift. As of August 2026 there are no official plans to introduce an equivalent overseas.

MY23 and MY24 use Snapdragon 8155 for infotainment. MY25 uses Snapdragon 8295. Assisted driving is one NVIDIA Orin-X on every G9 in the Danish store. Year-by-year equipment: G9 Differences.

Periodically, yes. G9 packs in the Danish store are LFP. A full charge calibrates the state of charge. XPENG stated the reminder trigger in XOS 5.2.5: 14 days or 1,000 km without a full charge.

XPENG publishes the peak power and the 10-80% time, not the curve, so that comes from third parties. EV Database lists the 10-80% time per charger type, and EVKX plots the curve itself. Both are other people’s measurements and models, not XPENG figures, and the numbers move with temperature and the charger. EVKX’s Long Range page still carries the first generation’s figures and its Standard Range is the MY23 car, so only AWD Performance is linked there. No. From XOS 5.9.5 you can mark a nearby space in the car for this manoeuvre (custom APA). That bay is not stored for the next visit.

No. All XPENG models (including the G9) come standard with a fixed panoramic glass roof with no opening functionality (no traditional sunroof). The G9 features an integrated electric sunshade that can be closed as needed.

200 km/h on all three trims, per the DK configurator. Our own G9 has shown 212 km/h on the speedometer on a German Autobahn - a dashboard reading, not GPS, and a speedometer is built never to read low.
