On 12 June 2025 XPENG announced new versions of the G6 and G9 for Europe. Every variant of both models is upgraded to 5C lithium iron phosphate batteries on an 800 V SiC platform. XPENG gives the charging time from 10 to 80 percent as 12 minutes, with a maximum charging power of up to 525 kW on the G9 and 451 kW on the G6.

The designation 5C states the charge and discharge rate relative to the battery’s capacity. The chemistry is LFP and so free of cobalt and nickel.
Equipment and cabin
The cars gained a microfibre steering wheel with capacitive sensing, new processors for the assistance systems and the cabin, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. The G6 got a 1,942 mm full-width light bar at the front and a cabin with 60 percent new components. The G9 got a three-layer heat-insulating panoramic roof, ten-point massage seats and a Black Edition with black paint, black wheels and orange brake calipers.
No prices came with the announcement. Interest registration opened in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and France, and ordering was to open in mid-July, subject to final type approval.
Later measurement in an independent test
In July 2026 a G9 AWD Performance won the Dutch charging test WK Snelladen, organised by Autoblog and Fastned in Lelystad at about 30 degrees, with 11 minutes from 10 to 80 percent. The peak was measured at 452 kW and the average at 381 kW on a 600 kW charger. The story on the charging test has all the measured data.
The XPENG G6 page and the XPENG G9 page cover the versions sold today, and the G9 model year comparison sets the model years apart.
