On 8 September 2025 XPENG announced that the company’s first European development centre would open in Munich later that month. It was to be the ninth globally, alongside centres such as those in Silicon Valley and San Diego. The purpose was to bring development closer to European users and to feed their needs into future solutions.
The announcement coincided with IAA Mobility, where XPENG showed the New G6, New G9, X9, P7+ and New P7.
Dimensions and market positioning
The P7+ is 5.05 m long and aimed at the D segment among electric cars. The New P7 is 5.15 m, and XPENG described it as the brand’s technology flagship. European sales were not confirmed; in Norway the company said the market response would be assessed first.
Planned European launch dates
XPENG presented the P7+ as on its way to Europe. In France ordering was planned for the start of 2026 and the first dealer deliveries for the spring. In Norway the introduction was planned for the spring of 2026, and the New X9 was to follow during the same spring.
High-speed trials and Norwegian sales
The New P7 is quoted at 593 hp, 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h. XPENG also gives 3,961 km in 24 hours as a record for mass-produced electric cars.
In Norway there were at that point more than 6,000 XPENG cars on the roads and more than 2,200 new registrations in 2025, growth of well over 120 percent. The company was present in more than 46 markets and had a target of 60 by the end of the year.
The NGP target
XPENG said in Munich that the aim was to offer first-class NGP assistance globally in the fourth quarter of 2026. The story on NGP follows the later development. The company background page has the background, and the markets page shows where it sells.
