The press release went out through XPENG Denmark on 3 August 2026 with two things that matter to a European buyer. The G9L gets six seats. And it sits above the G9 in the range. The pictures that day came from China and were the first official ones of the car.

He Xiaopeng gave the domestic framing on Weibo. He called the Chinese G9L a flagship among large five-seat cars; the European version gets six. He dated the programme three years back. The brief to engineering had been to beat 99 percent of the CN¥ 300,000 class on safety, technology and looks. That is a sales line, but it says something about where the car is aimed.
Pre-sales opened in Guangzhou eight days later. The XPENG G9L page collects the variants, dimensions, specifications and the full timeline up to Paris.
