In September 2025 XPENG opened its first research and development centre in Europe, in Munich. It is the ninth worldwide and follows Silicon Valley and San Diego among others. The opening coincided with IAA Mobility, where the brand had five cars on the stand: the New G6, G9, X9, P7+ and New P7.
The French version of the release carries a clarification the global one does not, and it is worth having. The P7+ and the New P7 are two different cars. The P7+ is 5.05 m and aims at the D segment among electric cars. The New P7 is 5.15 m and is the brand’s technology flagship, and its sale in Europe is, in XPENG’s own words, not confirmed. The Norwegian version says the same thing differently: XPENG is waiting to see the response before deciding.
The dates
The P7+ went on sale in Europe from IAA. In France ordering opened at the start of 2026 with the first dealer deliveries in spring. In Norway the word was spring 2026, with the new X9 to follow during the same spring.
The New P7 is quoted at 593 hp, nought to a hundred in 3.7 seconds and 230 km/h, and XPENG gives 3,961 km in 24 hours, which it calls a record for mass-produced electric cars.
Norway at that point had more than 6,000 XPENGs on the road and over 2,200 new registrations in 2025, growth of well over 120 percent. XPENG counted itself at more than 46 markets, with a target of 60 by the end of the year.
On driver assistance, XPENG said in Munich that XPENG aimed to be among the best in smart driving by the fourth quarter of 2026. Ten months later the word was 2027, with a separate European version, and the NGP story has that timetable. The XPENG company page has the background, and the markets page has the countries.
