The New P7 was shown as pictures, a codename and a designer’s name

XPENG published the first official images of the New P7 on 15 May 2025. A video came with them, and nothing else. The car carries the codename E29, it is a five-seat coupé sedan, and it took five years to develop.

The designer is Rafik Ferrag, who also shaped the first P7. The Swedish version of the release notes that the images and video went out through his own social channels.

Technologies are named without numbers attached: XPENG Turing for the driver assistance, a cabin XPENG calls immersive, and a design driven by aerodynamics. There are no specifications, no price and no launch date. All three market versions say details of the market launch and the technology are coming shortly.

He Xiaopeng said the P7 is more than a car, and that in form and function it is XPENG’s answer to the AI age.

The first P7, the release says, took the Xuanyuan award for car of the year 2021 and five stars in both C-NCAP and Euro NCAP. Claes Persson, managing director of XPENG Norway, added that the brand has been in Norway for almost five years, is setting sales records in 2025, and that the P7 was one of the first models introduced there.

The New P7 page has the car as it is now, and the first P7 page has the one it started with.
