Between 3 November and 1 December 2023 XPENG issued three releases about honours in the Nordics.
Lyd & Billede Home gave the international P7 a silver nomination as Premium Electric Car of the Year 2023/24, one of six finalists. XPENG described the magazine as one of the leading players in the Nordics for consumer electronics, testing hundreds of products a year.
In the review the jury highlighted the P7 as a serious luxury alternative: in the reviewer’s assessment the car had no trump cards on battery or software, but offered classic luxury in the cabin and high ride comfort. The P7 had also been awarded five Euro NCAP stars in October that year.
Denmark
The G9 won Technological Frontrunner of the Year at Auto Awards 2023. XPENG was nominated in three categories, Car Brand of the Year, Family Car of the Year and Technological Frontrunner of the Year, and won the last. In those three categories motoring journalists’ votes counted for 80 percent and the public’s for 20.
Joachim Wishart Hummel-Gryholm, head of marketing at XPENG Denmark, noted that the first cars had been delivered around August 2023. The 10,000th car in Denmark was delivered in 2026.
Norway
The G9 won the people’s favourite award at Dagbladet’s, Dinside’s and Elbil24’s Car of the Year 2024 with 15.22 percent of the vote against 13.88 for the runner-up. XPENG described itself as the first Chinese car brand to win the vote. With the win the G9 went through to the final field of eight candidates for the overall Car of the Year 2024 title. According to the release the G9 was the sixth most registered electric car in Norway in November 2023.
Charging and model information
In the Danish release XPENG said the G9 charges at up to 300 kW from 10 to 80 percent in 20 minutes, while the Norwegian release highlighted up to 100 km of range in five minutes at 300 kW.
