The P7 Comfort Edition: Nappa, 22 speakers, and a charging figure that gives the platform away

In September 2024 XPENG put a Comfort Edition of the P7 on the German market from EUR 49,600. On top of the ordinary car sit Nappa leather seats with ventilation for driver and front passenger, a Dynaudio system with 22 speakers, 840 W and Dolby Atmos, and doors that pull themselves shut. XPENG puts the customer benefit at EUR 3,960 against specifying the same content separately, but does not show the arithmetic.

The edition comes on two drivetrains. The rear-wheel-drive Long Range makes 203 kW and covers 576 km WLTP. The all-wheel-drive Performance makes 348 kW and 757 Nm, and no range figure is given for it. The battery is 86.2 kWh in every version, and consumption is quoted at 13.3 to 16.8 kWh per 100 km.

The charging figure

The car charges at around 175 kW and goes from 20 to 80 per cent in 25 minutes. The window is a different one from the rest of the range, which is quoted from 10 to 80 per cent, so the two numbers cannot be set against each other as they stand. Six months later XPENG’s Polish release says it plainly: the P7 runs on 400 volts and takes about 29 minutes from 10 to 80 per cent.

That is worth carrying, because the brand’s pitch in those years is built on 800 volts. The P7 was never on that platform. Neither temperature nor charger is named in the release.

The rest of the car

Already standard on the ordinary P7: full LED headlights, seat heating in every seat, a panoramic glass roof, privacy glass, a sensor tailgate and two-zone climate control. XPILOT covers adaptive cruise, lane centring, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beam, door-open warning, EAP 2.0 parking, a 360-degree camera and the transparent-chassis view.

The warranty is seven years on the car and eight on the high-voltage battery, both to 160,000 km. The eight-year battery term is a detail the European G6 release of April that year did not give.

The XPENG P7 page has the car as it is sold today.
