The G6 charged just as fast in the cold as in summer

NAF and the magazine Motor run Elprix twice a year. In the winter test of January 2025 the XPENG G6 charged in 19 minutes and 58 seconds, which XPENG itself describes as exactly the same as in the summer test the year before.

The release does not say what charging power was used, what temperature the charging test ran at, whether the battery was preconditioned, or which G6 variant took part. Those are four qualifiers a charging figure normally needs, and all four are missing.

The day before, every car drove the same route from Oslo to Dombås in temperatures between minus 6 and plus 7. The G6 managed 429.3 km. That is 22 percent below the car’s WLTP figure, and XPENG notes that this is roughly the average deviation across the test.

The figures do not compare backwards

XPENG says so itself, which is fair of it. The test has changed the end of the route and no longer runs the cars completely flat. In the summer 2024 test the G6 was driven to empty and reached 530.7 km. The 530.7 and the 429.3 are not the same measurement.

Working backwards, 429.3 km at 22 percent below WLTP implies a stated figure of around 550 km. That matches the AWD Performance in XPENG’s own German price list from four months earlier. But the release does not say so, which makes it a calculation.

One more thing to keep straight. The car in the test is the original G6. The New G6 with the 5C battery only reached Europe during 2025 and has figures of its own, which the XPENG G6 page sets out. The same test series measured an X9 at 361 km in winter and 646 km in summer in 2026, and that story has both numbers.
