XPENG showed the X9 to Europe at eCar Expo in Lillestrøm from 7 to 9 February 2025. It was the car’s European premiere, and XPENG confirmed at the same time that it would go on sale in Norway. Two months earlier, in December 2024, the wording was still that XPENG was considering the car for the market.
In the same release XPENG writes that the model is not yet type-approved for Europe, and then lists the Chinese specifications. At the foot, XPENG makes every figure subject to final type approval.
What the numbers mean
Range is up to 705 km on CLTC, the Chinese test cycle. It cannot be compared directly with a WLTP figure, and no European figure existed at that point. The battery is 101.5 kWh, charging power up to 330 kW, and 10 to 80 percent is given as 20 minutes with no charger power or temperature stated. Nought to a hundred takes as little as 5.7 seconds.
The car is 5,293 mm long on a 3,160 mm wheelbase. The boot takes 755 litres with all seven seats in use and 2,554 litres with four. The dual-chamber air suspension adjusts height by up to 90 mm, ground clearance can be set as high as 22 cm, and rear-wheel steering gives a 10.8 m turning diameter. Behind, there are zero-gravity seats, a 21.4-inch screen that folds down from the roof, and a box that both cools and heats between 1 and 50 degrees.
At that point there were more than 3,600 XPENGs on Norwegian roads, most of them G9s, served by 15 sales locations and 18 service locations.
