A New G9 reached 452 kW and a New G6 402 kW at Eviny’s fast charger at Vinterbro south of Oslo on 30 October 2025. XPENG calls them the first charging records for its models in Europe.
The most useful thing in the release is the explanation of why the attempt did not reach the 525 kW XPENG itself quotes as the G9’s peak. The charger was a 500 kW unit limited to 600 amps, while the car needs 700 to come close to its capacity. The ceiling was in the infrastructure, not in the car, and XPENG says so plainly.
For a buyer that means a quoted peak assumes a charger that does not yet stand in many places. The figure you actually feel is the time, and that has gone from 20 minutes to 12 minutes from 10 to 80 percent on both models.
The release also says the G6 charges almost 61 percent faster. That is the difference in power, 451 kW against 280. The time from 10 to 80 fell from 20 minutes to 12, which is 40 percent less time. Time is what you wait at the charger.
Nothing is said about ambient temperature, preconditioning or the battery’s starting state of charge for either record.
A week earlier XPENG froze its prices
On 24 October XPENG Norway said an extra batch of cars could be secured at 2025 prices even where delivery falls in 2026, and that it applied to a limited number. The trigger was the government’s 2026 budget proposal, which had pushed demand for the G6 and G9 up. The release does not say what the duty change is, how large it would be, or when it would take effect, only that one might come. Prices at that point were 399,900 kroner for the G6 Standard Range and 559,900 for the G9.
It is the second time XPENG has locked a price ahead of a tax change in Europe. The first was in the Netherlands in 2024, as the EU tariff story describes. XPENG had by then registered nearly 2,800 cars in Norway in 2025, against a target of more than 3,000.
Nine months later a Dutch test measured the G9 at 11 minutes from 10 to 80 with a 452 kW peak, and that story has the figures. The XPENG G9 page has the specifications.
