The X9 went on sale in China on 1 January 2024 from RMB 359,800 to 419,800, in China only, with immediate deliveries.
The figures are the series’ maximum figures and do not necessarily apply to the same version: up to 702 km CLTC, consumption down to 16.2 kWh per 100 km, 370 kW, 640 Nm, 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h. The platform is 800 V with silicon carbide and 3C cells. Ten minutes of charging is said to give up to 300 km, but neither the test cycle nor the charging power is stated.
The cabin is given as 7.7 square metres of floor and the boot as 2,554 litres with the third row electrically folded. The turning radius is 5.4 m with rear-wheel steering, and dual-chamber air suspension is standard. The body is cast on a 12,000-tonne clamping-force machine, torsional rigidity is 46,000 Nm per degree, and the safety cage is 2,000 MPa steel.
The 702 km
CLTC is the Chinese test cycle, and the 702 km is measured on it.
The Norwegian price list of June 2025 gave 525 km WLTP for the front-wheel-drive car with 94.8 kWh, 600 km for the Long Range with 105 kWh and 560 km for the all-wheel-drive version. In 2026 XPENG gives 580 km WLTP in Norway and up to 615 km for the German Long Range. In between, XPENG’s own Norwegian previews of December 2024 and February 2025 still used the Chinese figure, 705 km CLTC, and the latter added that the car was not yet type approved in Europe.
Batteries and model years differ, so these are two different cars, and the European figures correct nothing about the 702. Consumption follows the same pattern: 16.2 kWh per 100 km in China against 20.0 to 20.8 kWh WLTP for the European X9 in the German release of June 2026.
Sales in 2023 and a wider XNGP
XPENG sold 141,601 cars in 2023 after eleven consecutive months of rising deliveries, and the company announced that from 2 January 2024 XNGP would be expanded to 243 Chinese cities. He Xiaopeng said the X9 broadens the range and promotes the adoption of autonomous driving.
